Gina Goodenow, CPA, CFE
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Gina Goodenow is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for United Way of New York City. She joined United Way in 2016 as the Vice President and Controller of Finance. As CFO, Gina leads the management of all financial functions for the organization including the preparation of financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and related analysis, audit activity including the OMB A-133 audit, and management of the Form 990, NYS CHAR500, and other required tax filings.
Gina brings nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting and non-profit management. She began her career at a regional accounting firm where she specialized in the audits of SEC, manufacturing, and nonprofit clients. She then transitioned to the National Office of BDO Seidman and their consulting group where she handled various litigation cases including accounting malpractice and white collar criminal defense. Prior to joining United Way of New York City, Gina worked as the Controller of the March of Dimes where she oversaw the financial reporting process of the $200+ million entity.
Gina is an active member of the New York State Society of CPAs and is the Past-President of the Westchester and Manhattan chapters. She holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting and a Master’s in Accounting Information Systems from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner.
